  • A Mobile Application for Parent Management of Pediatric PTSD

    Capstone project completed within senior year at ASU for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Worked in a team of 4 to create an application to assist parents and family members in identifying the symptoms of pediatric PTSD, as well as a list of resources for treatment. Used the Agile software method, and acted as Scrum Master, Sprint planner, and project manager. Performing pilot testing with PCH coordinators, parents, and PTSD specialists.

    Used Java Swing application built on a JEditorPane control to implement a minimal web browser client. Web browser included function home and back buttons as well as address bar. Used Java TCP/IP sockets and java threads to implement a minimal subset of the http server protocol on a server running on a remote Raspberry Pi. Application used Ant targets to prepare, build and execute both server and client.

    Lead a team of six to add bus scheduling capabilities to an existing open source software. Enhanced Java Swing GUI elements, added back-end functionality, and added JSON capabilities. Employed an Agile and SCRUM development environment while engaging in sprints. Managed the Git repository for the team and encouraged Git etiquette.
